VKVC Flow Tees are used in pipeline systems at branched connections and pig launcher and receiver systems. The Tees can be barred or sphere. Barred tees help the pig to negotiate the branch. Tees are available customized as per customer request.
VKVC Flow Tees serve as critical branching connections within liquid and gas pipeline systems. They facilitate the diversion of flow from a primary pipeline into a secondary lateral line, the introduction of flow from a lateral line into the main pipeline, and the unimpeded passage of flow through the main line itself.
A significant challenge in pipeline operations involves the passage of spheres used for pigging and inspection. Standard or even barred tees often present an obstruction, leading to spheres becoming lodged within the fitting. Such entrapment can cause substantial operational disruptions, frequently necessitating complex and costly interventions, including physical cutting of the pipeline for sphere retrieval. VKVC’s innovative Flow Tee is specifically engineered to overcome this inherent limitation.
The VKVC Flow Tee incorporates an enlarged central section housing a uniquely designed inner sleeve. This sleeve features a series of meticulously sized and positioned slots. The precise configuration of these slots ensures the smooth and reliable passage of spheres past the side lateral connections without the risk of becoming trapped.
For optimal performance and to ensure unimpeded sphere passage during flow-through operations, Flow Tees should be implemented in instances where the branch line diameter exceeds one-quarter of the main pipeline diameter. Furthermore, installation of Flow Tees is recommended at every point where flow is directed out through the lateral connection.
VKVC Flow Tee is effective even for full-diameter branch openings. The key to the Flow Tee is its radial flow design, which provides an inner sleeve to direct the pig through the primary line, past the branch.
Flow holes in the sleeve and the annular cavity provide a flow area at least equal to the flow area of the branch line, permitting full product flow through the tee during normal operations.
The design pressure may be specified as an ANSI rating or as the equivalent pressure rating of the matching pipes.
